Kent - Wedding - The Friars - Rochester Castle - Couples Portrait- Chris & Katie - Walking into the Sunset
As we walked toward Rochester Castle after their wedding ceremony at the registry office. I let the bride and groom walk hand in hand infront of me, this allowed me to frame up this shot of them walking into the sunset to begin our mini portrait sessions.
Kent – Wedding – The Black Horse – Thurnham – Katie & Charlie – into the field
I love to photograph the bride and groom around an hour before sunset, the light is really directional, soft, warm and beautiful! We drove up the north downs and photograph for around 20 minutes, I find having a pre-shoot really speeds up this process allowing the bride and groom to have a massive range of images instead of a small handful
Kent - Wedding – Starborough manor - Caz & Col – The Big Dance Photo
I always take the time to light my dance floor, this allows me to get epic photos of the couple while they are having their first dance, I like my dance shots to look dark and contrast with loads of action happening, by positioning myself here I was able to capture all their guests behind them
Kent - Wedding - Cooling Castle Barns- Cake - Edward & James – Have it and Eat it!
Who does not like wedding cake? to get a bit of depth and feeling to an image i like to include some foreground elements, i photographed the cake between some glasses and a table topper, i think this frames the stunning cake beautifully.

Kent - Wedding - Cooling Castle Barns- Ceremony- Rob & Nicola – Sign sealed delivered
Capturing the standard or go too image for an occasion isn’t always possible or wanted. Normally for the processional, I shoot wide and have my 2nd shooter shoot tight, this time I photographed from a different angle. The Bride and groom were to exit to the side, under a balcony, I thought it was create a really unique and interesting image.

Kent - Wedding – Salomons Estate Tunbridge Wells - Alex & Amanda – First Dance
I love shooting a really wide scene for the first dance, and including movement into it, this can only be done by correctly setting up lights around the dance floor the capture the action. Amanda and Alex had performed a practised routine in front of the 200 guests,
Kent - Wedding – High Rocks - Tunbridge Wells - Katey & Matt– Into the dress
Capturing the expressions on the brides face when she walks down the aisle is one of the most important parts of the ceremony, I love the elation in katey’s face when Matt turned around for the first time.
Kent - Couple - Whitstable - Couple - Lucy & Aaron – Kissing in the street
When photographing couples I always try to find things or ways that relax them as much as possible, one thing that works really well is getting them to lean or sit on things. This takes the thought of how they are standing away and allows them to concentrate on the emotion and link between them

Kent - Wedding – Birling – Ceremony - Amanda & Adam – Confetti
When I come to photograph the wedding cake, it is very unlikely that it’s in good light or it has a clean background, so I normally move the cake to a place which has really interesting light and has a clean background or has a way I can manipulate the background too be out of focus or a lot bright or darker than the cake.
East Sussex - Wedding - Dale Hill – Couple Shoot - Sarah & Marc – Walking back
Just before dinner was too be served it finally stopped raining, I took this time to whisk Sarah and marc outside to capture a few portraits. We were limited by the kitchen staff to just 8 minutes! Kent - Couple - Maidstone - Couple - Edward & Andrew – Epic forest
Edward and Andrew did not like being in front of the camera, that’s fine by me, and I have a great style and way to hide this and make whoever I am photographing comfortable in front of the camera. I asked Ed and Andy to jump onto the large log while I quickly set up a light, I let them get comfortable while I dialling in all my settings. I left them to chat for a few minutes while selectively taking a few images.

I really dislike taking the bride and groom away from their guests for any longer than a minute, by setting up all my lighting before hand it really speeds things up!
